DEFINITION - texture and pattern
TEXTURE-
the way of drawing the viewers attention to the image, it can potentially create emotion.
PATTERN-
Pattern photography shows elements that are repeated, for example, lines, shapes tones or colour.

DEFINITION - colour
Colour in photography could be described as the most important factor. It can create mood, emotion and much more. Colour in an image can also be imperative to the narrative of the image.

STRAIGHT IMAGES - Landscape

I like this image due to the depth of colours, as the building
really stands out. To give it this effect i used photoshop
curves and after, adjusted the brightness to manipulate the dark
clouds.

This black and white of this image shows a sharp contrast between the lighter
and darker parts of the image, the lightness of the clouds enables the image to
look angelic.

The use of the black and white in this image creates an eerie type of
atmosphere making the sky scraper look abandoned which i especially like
as its very different from the original.

Like image three the black and white enable it to look abandoned, however
due to the filter it makes it look as if the shadows are crawling down the posts which emphasises
the creepiness of the photo. Giving the image it's own personality.

This image has been manipulated to look a lot darker than the original.
The use of the 'burn' tool on photoshop as well as the 'curves' tool gave me
this result. The clouds and sky are the lightest part of the image, however due to
the depth of field we are instantly attracted to the building in the bottom left, and the building
furthest away.

DEFINITION - line
line lines are to guide the eye to another area of focus in the image being presented. And on some occasions, out of the image to lock your focus onto something related. "Anything with a definite line can be a 'leading line' such as fences, bridges and a shoreline" can lead the eye to another point of focus
IMAGE BANK - line
image one, uses line vertically and diagonally to create a rolling effect, i like this photo because it
makes you feel like you are moving with the camera, the eye travels further than the lens and it causes you to think about what may be beyond the bridge.

image two is very interesting to me as the lines are vertical, due to the use of vertical lines
it cause your eye to travel left to right rather than top to bottom, which creates an interesting
contrast. I particularly like this image as it creates a dainty feel towards the woman in the photo and masks you question her as she is seen as mysterious.

Image three is similar to image on in the use of lines, it makes you question what is beyond,
the use of shadows here makes it look eerie which creates an interesting atmosphere.
Image 4-
image four is very interesting as the line seems almost to be wiggled and slightly blurred, suggesting
the artist did not want to to focus on the line itself, rather than what the line is doing, as well as what the people are doing.

Image five shows us vertical lines in a pleasant way as it demonstrates movement which i believe
is a very clever way of portraying line, the usage of the train also adds to the effect of the lines creating movement.

Landscape photography shows areas in the world. Landscape photos typically capture nature but can also focus on man-made features such as buildings etc or disturbances of landscapes.
